	PLAY glassware
Glass vase and bowls designed for Iittala’s Play collection do not take themselves too seriously or put themselves on a pedestal, but invite to play, experiment, and express the user’s creativity.
The gingerbread-shaped rims and the organic round details at the bottom of the objects create an overall shape that beautifully emphasizes glass as a material and reflect the light fascinatingly.
Glass objects are mouth-blown and hand-crafted at the Iittala glass factory in Finland.

	FAB vase

With its strong visual style, timeless
shapes, and elegant proportions the Fab Vase was the winning entry in the Northern Design Award 2022.


Combining traditional glass blowing
techniques with innovative new ideas, every vase is truly unique thanks to the natural patterns
that occur within the glass when mouthblown into the mould.


Available in two colours, one being transparent the
other yellow, making it even more striking, every Fab Vase also comes with a
round metal insert. This removable stainless-steel disc allows up to 42
individual flower stems to be fully supported when place within it, bringing even
more drama and definition to floral displays.

	BLOOM vases

Bloom is the outcome of a project in which I explored the possibilities of utilizing glass waste in the glass studio at Nuutajärvi. Glass recycling has big environmental impact. Compared to glass made from virgin raw materials, the use of recycled glass achieves savings in raw material costs and natural resources, energy saving is 20% and CO2 emissions are lower. As a material, glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled endlessly without loss in purity or quality.


The project was executed in collaboration with Glass School Nuutajärvi, Tavastia Vocational College. Hand blown at Nuutajärvi Glass Village.

	GARDEN - Exploring the possibilities of glass waste with the help of glass casting techniques

During the spring 2021 in my master’s thesis, I explored the possibilities of glass waste with the help of casting techniques. The topic was addressed from the perspective of sustainable development. In this work, I became acquainted with the raw materials used in glass manufacturing. Improved acquaintance with these materials helps to deepen our understanding of the value of recycled materials as a usable resource alongside virgin raw materials.


The thesis was carried out in co-operation with Fiskars Group, Iittala. Through material and casting technique tests performed at the Iittala Glass Factory, I explored the behavior of glass and how it affected the end result. I also explored the opportunities for new ideas and operating models that would enable the waste material generated as a side stream of production to be utilized at the Iittala Glass Factory.

One of the biggest problems with living in the Nordic countries is the lack of light. During winter months light intensity is low and hours of daylight are limited. This makes the moments when various hues of light appear seem even more beautiful. These moments in the wild fascinate and inspire us. Tone brings the shades and the play of natural light indoors.

BALANCE decanter


Balance is a delicate glass decanter to complement a table setting. The playful use of material creates an illusion of floating as the geometric cap handle appears to balance on top of the decanter. The cap can be individualized by using different shapes and materials such as wenge or oak.

	TWIN floor lamp


Twin is a floor lamp designed for public spaces and made from recycled PET plastic. On a larger scale, the work explores the possibilities of recycled material. The main material, the porous PET Felt, has an acoustic function of noise reduction in the design. Opaque glass around the light source gives smooth, gentle and diffused light, while the three-dimensional wave pattern of the PET component directs the light and the soundwaves. The double-sided PET felt mold, designed for this manufacturing process, allows the production of components in various sizes. The LED lights with a dimming feature allow customized illuminance depending on the desired mood, time and space. The lamp can be reassembled, which guarantees the longest possible life cycle for it.
The PET felt components were manufactured in collaboration with Volar Plastic Oy.


One of the 6 finalists of LUMINORD 2020 - Nordic Luminaire Design Competition.

COSMOS floor lamp

Cosmos is a combination of modern and traditional. The light pull string is a tribute to classic light switches. Repetition of round shapes in different sizes makes the lamp stand out. The name Cosmos reflects the light’s character and shape: its function is to give direct light like the Sun or to create a beautiful ambient light like the Moon, as the light source can be rotated. Cosmos is a floor lamp which is made from powder-coated metal. LED-technology allows the flat shape of the light source.

Ranked in the Top 10 in Northern Lighting Design Award 2017.
