THE VILLAGE vases
Morning mist curtains the landscape.
Flaking paint on buildings unveils their many layers,
it’s as if time stands still.
From the heart of a modest looking village
you can find a cherished skill,
past Lazareth and the Stone Wall,
at the end of the road I find the Workshop.
I feel a flicker in my chest.
I follow every movement with admiration and honor.
Fingers running along the pipe,
a dance-like performance,
every time different, beautiful.
Blow and spin!
I must be patient until tomorrow,
then I understand more again.
