Anne Hirvonen is a furniture designer from Finland. She finds her inspiration in everyday life from nature to urban surroundings. As a designer, she strives to constantly develop her skills and her way of thinking. Novel techniques, materials and shapes inspire her outlook on the mundane life and the wilderness in Finland, while her relentlessness and curiosity drive her forward.
During the past couple of years Anne has begun to explore glass which she sees as a versatile and fascinating material. Anne thinks glass is the most challenging material she has worked with, but that is one of the reasons why it also attracts her. In particular, Hirvonen is interested in various glass manufacturing processes and in her work she always strives to develop them further. Understanding the material, its limitations and possibilities, has opened up the world of glass, where there is still much to explore and discover. Although Hirvonen's work is usually based on techniques and processes, in the end her work is guided by intuition and gentleness.
